Developed and commercialized world’s first liquid polymer coated wood plastic composite deck board for Fortune 500 company. Product is a commercial success and is sold through leading big box stores and building products distributors.  Invented product and carried it through concept design phase, technical feasibility studies, product performance testing and optimization, design and specifying production line. Designed production protocols, successful product launch, and developed next generation production models.
Evaluated product portfolios and conducted intellectual property value assessment for a Merger and Acquisition team. Provided strategy for optimizing stockholder value prior to sale.
Conducted strategic intellectual property evaluation and business development implementation strategy for thermal control technology firm.

 

2014-Present        Southern Ridge Farm Columbia, TN

Built a $1.5M retail agricultural business raising and selling artisan beef, pork, and chicken into the Nashville Metropolitan market. Implemented innovative agriculture and livestock management techniques on over 500 acres of purchased and leased land to raise all natural, grass and pasture fed livestock sold into the local retail market. Implemented an innovative subscription farming business model to increase profits and sales leading to one of the area’s most productive and progressive agricultural businesses of its kind.

Develop markets for composite coatings—focus on three key areas: FRP Pultrusion, Wood Plastic Composites, and Composite Decking Materials.

Lead a team of 11 coatings scientists responsible for the development and commercialization of new coating technologies. Responsible for diversifying new product development portfolio. Interface with customers, raw material and equipment manufacturers to promote innovative and disruptive technology into new markets.

  • UV coatings for flexible and rigid interior automotive substrates.

Directed department with nine technical professionals and three laboratory technicians. Responsible for all Research and Development functions related to a growing $20 million international UV coatings market. Maintained world class UV application lab fitted with two flat and five 3D curing lines, consisting of more than 22 microwave and arc lamps.

  • Maintained existing product portfolio covering 65% global market share of scratch resistant lens coatings and 85% global market share of coatings used in the automotive forward lighting market.
  • Expanded cosmetic closure and container coatings.
